The Rhize Coaching Fellowship

At Rhize, we support movements because we believe they are essential for achieving systemic change. Our mission is to provide movement leaders with the tools and networks they need to sustain and grow movements. We have found that investing in experienced movement organizers in their local context and facilitating their ability to provide trainings and new tools to movements in their communities creates a force-multiplying effect that enables more grassroots-led movement leaders to gain access to proven skills, strategies, and resources they can apply and adapt to build power through collective action around the issues their communities face. That’s why we started the Rhize Coaching Fellowship (RCF).

The RCF brings together movement leaders, coaches, trainers, organizers and activists working with movements to learn from each other and gain new skills to support movements. RCF Coaches come together from all age groups, gender identities, sexual identities, religious background to learn from each other and grow together.

During the RCF, Coaching Fellows will work with and learn from Coaching Mentors, who are veteran activists from movements around the world. Coaching Fellows will get the complete Rhize toolkit, a peer network and funding to apply these new skills to train movements in their local communities. Coaching Mentors will receive technical and financial support in expanding their training networks and local activist communities.

A Note on the Name

The Global Coaching Fellowship began in 2020 with a mission to provide movement leaders with the tools and networks to sustain and grow movements. After a few years of exciting growth and bringing power back to the people through training and consulting with our coaches we decided to update our name to better reflect who we are and what we offer to the movement community.

As we start the 2023 program, we are excited to share that the "Global Coaching Fellowship" is now the "Rhize Coaching Fellowship," and that this year's program will be the 2023 Rhize Coaching Fellowship (Africa). With this new name, want want to convey that our Coaching Fellowship program can be applied to any number of regions, or even thematic movement areas. We believe movements are essential for achieving systemic change and Coaching Fellowship's new name highlights that movements are truly on the Rhize!
