Rhize coaches movements, trains organizations and connects everyone to a global ecosystem of movement support.
RHIZOME [RISE-OHM]: NOUN
A connective, underground root network that grows continuously and can sprout to the surface from any node. (Just like successful movements.)
Movements Matter.
People-powered movements unite and activate diverse communities and build more inclusive, democratic societies unlike any other vehicle for change. Rhize works with coaches to achieve these goals by providing them with strategies, skills and resources to partner with and train activists in their community, creating a force multiplying effect that helps movements sustain and grow movements’ impact.
Global Coaching Fellowship
Our flagship program, the Global Coaching Fellowship, brings together movement leaders, coaches, trainers, organizers and activists working with movements to learn from each other and gain new skills to support movements. During the GCF, Coaching Fellows will be connected with Coaching Mentors and veteran activists from movements around the world to work with and learn from. Coaching Fellows get the complete Rhize toolkit, a peer network and funding to apply these new skills to train movements in their local communities.
Applications are now closed for the GCF 2021 cycle.
Please sign up for our mailing list for updates about future applications.
The Rhize Coaching Model
The Rhize Coaching Model is all about investing in experienced movement organizers in their local context and facilitating their ability to more consistently provide trainings and new tools to movements to build grassroots power that enables more grassroots-led movement leaders to gain access to proven skills, strategies, and resources they can apply and adapt to build power through collective action around the issues their communities face.
EDUCATING INSTITUTIONS IN THE MOVEMENT MINDSET
The growing number of social movements globally are reshaping civil societies everywhere. To support them, institutions must work differently, with new tools and approaches — the movement mindset*. We provide tools to do just that, through virtual courses, in-person trainings and opportunities for community support.
Adopting a Movement Mindset
Adopting a Movement Mindset is an annual 8-week virtual course designed to help civil society professionals who are looking for new and innovative ways to support and protect activists and the movements they’re building.
Bring Training to Your Organization
Rhize works with INGOs and foundations around the world to help them incorporate a movement mindset into their work and understand how to support movements and activists in a way that creates real change. Find out how Rhize can support your work.
